You may be an ambassador to England or France,
You may like to gamble, you might like to dance,
You may be the heavyweight champion of the world,
You may be a socialite with a long string of pearls
But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You're gonna have to serve somebody,
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you're gonna have to serve somebody.
You might be a rock 'n' roll addict prancing on the stage,
You might have drugs at your command, women in a cage,
You may be a business man or some high degree thief,
They may call you Doctor or they may call you Chief
But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You're gonna have to serve somebody,
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you're gonna have to serve somebody.
You may be a state trooper, you might be a young Turk,
You may be the head of some big TV network,
You may be rich or poor, you may be blind or lame,
You may be living in another country under another name
But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You're gonna have to serve somebody,
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you're gonna have to serve somebody.
You may be a construction worker working on a home,
You may be living in a mansion or you might live in a dome,
You might own guns and you might even own tanks,
You might be somebody's landlord, you might even own banks
But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You're gonna have to serve somebody,
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you're gonna have to serve somebody.
You may be a preacher with your spiritual pride,
You may be a city councilman taking bribes on the side,
You may be workin' in a barbershop, you may know how to cut hair,
You may be somebody's mistress, may be somebody's heir
But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You're gonna have to serve somebody,
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you're gonna have to serve somebody.
Might like to wear cotton, might like to wear silk,
Might like to drink whiskey, might like to drink milk,
You might like to eat caviar, you might like to eat bread,
You may be sleeping on the floor, sleeping in a king-sized bed
But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You're gonna have to serve somebody,
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you're gonna have to serve somebody.
You may call me Terry, you may call me Timmy,
You may call me Bobby, you may call me Zimmy,
You may call me R.J., you may call me Ray,
You may call me anything but no matter what you say
You're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You're gonna have to serve somebody.
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you're gonna have to serve somebody.

I serve Jesus!
He saved me, has offered me eternal life and loves me.
I can't just expect him to do all of the work! So I serve him.
It is so important that people hear the news about Jesus and find him. It is vital that they become Christians. I mean, what if Jesus came tonight? Think of the multitudes who are all going to hell!
A lot of people think that to serve Jesus you have to go overseas and stuff but that is not true. It may be fantastic if you do, but there are so many people that you pass everyday who are searching for a meaning, searching for Jesus or walking down a road that leads to destruction.
Think about your neighbors, the check-out chick, the guy drinking away his sorrows at the pub, the teen who is hurting, the kid who feels lost, the woman who never feels good enough. So many people are hurting and they need Jesus. Today.
Will you serve?
G.B (God Bless).

Premise doesn't hold up under scrutiny. Whom does Bill Gates serve? President Bush? Does service imply GOOD SERVICE, or is bad service included in the mix? If you're providing bad service, does that mean you're serving someone else? What does it mean to service your children? Your spouse? Your parents? Does service have to be exclusive? What about service to yourself? Doesn't preparing yourself a meal count as that? What about self-pleasuring?
I hope you see that you have oversimplified your theology into a silly question.

I serve in the spirit of love. I know I can't help everybody, but if someone calls upon me I will help out in any way I can. Did you ever see that movie called Entertaining Angels about Dorothy Day? There's a quote from there (which is used to title the movie): "You never know when you are entertaining an angel."--meaning that no matter who you are there is Christ with in them and by helping someone you are respecting yourself and loving Christ.

I serve the one true God; the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He is the Everlasting One, who sent His Son, Jesus, to save the world from the mistakes we've all made.

My mortgage banker. If I didn't have a mortgage I certainly wouldn't work 10+ hours a day six days a week. Other than that - I serve my family as needed (because I love them) and myself.
