I’m making meatballs for my office party next week. I need a good marinara jar sauce for my meatballs. I was thinking of turning on my crock-pot on high at 6 am for our luncheon at noon. Will this be enough time to heat up my meatballs?

I love the Paul Newman brand -- nice flavor without being cloyingly tomato-ish or "blow your sinuses out" spicy. You can always add a little extra cooked Italian sausage or some cooked and drained ground beef to punch it up.

And yes, six hours ought to be plenty of time to heat up the meatballs in time for luncheon at noon. In fact, you might want to check around 10:00 or 10:30 to see if it needs to be turned back to Low.

Hope you have a great party! :-)

Don't use jar sauce that's just yucky. Heat some pre-cooked meatballs in the oven for 1/2 an hour before you go to work. Then on top of the stove in a saucepan add 1 1/2 Cups of Apple Jelly, 1 Cup Spicy brown mustard, 1 cups of Apple juice, 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, and a few dashes of hot sauce (cholula).

Mix well over medium heat until apple jelly is melted. Turn on low heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

Transfer the meatballs to the crockpot, then pour the sauce over the meatballs. When you get to work you can just put the crockpot on the low setting. This recipie is a favorite of my friends and family. I make it for most gatherings I attend. Best of luck to you and have a great office party.

If the meatballs are frozen/thawed, about 3 hours might do it (depending on how hot your crock gets). I know you asked for a jarred sauce, but here's my tweaked recipe for:

Cheesy Fondue Meatballs
Preparation time: 5 minutes Total time: 3 hours

1 package frozen Italian Style Meatballs, thawed
1 10 1/2-oz can cheddar cheese soup
1/2 cup cubed American Cheese
1/2 cup milk
4 oz green chilies
Paprika, to taste (optional)

Mix soup, cheese cubes, milk and paprika together in microwave-safe bowl. Heat on HIGH (100% power) 5 minutes; stir every minute. Place thawed meatballs in slow cooker. Add cheesy fondue sauce and stir to coat meatballs. Simmer on LOW heat for about 3 hours. Stir occasionally. Toward the end of cooking time, add chilies.

As an appetizer, serve on party picks or mini sub rolls.
As a main dish - Add about a small handful or two of dry small elbow macaroni or shells about 45 minutes before the end of cooking time. Be sure pasta is submerged in liquid. The pasta will double in size while cooking. Add additional liquid as needed. Another idea - Omit paprika and add fresh diced tomatoes.

Make sure you have the crock on low temp.

If you have access to it, the best sauce in the jar is definately Mid's. It is hard to come by in many areas, but if you can get it, it's definately worth a try. I don't have to "fix it up" at all like the other sauces.

i might crockpot the meatballs separately for a quick whilst. while they have cooked and tenderized, i might drain the liquid from basically the meatballs and then upload the sauces. (i might soften the jam and combine with the BBQ in a saucepan on the range, first. basically so this is the two mixed once you pour it on precise.) We did an analogous factor with grape jelly and chili sauce. (My chum gave me the recipe). We additionally made our very own meatballs. We used clean floor pork, finely chopped onions, and breadcrumbs and basically made a lot of small ones. We baked them, crockpotted them, and then permit them to choose for a whilst, draining the surplus liquid till now putting the sauce on. as long as they're lined in sauce and not overdone, it won't be a topic.

Any jar marinara sauce would work.

Just make sure you add more sauce if it looks like they are cooking to fast and drying out.
