The three things you need to have sound are the following:
-something to make the soundwaves
-something to carry the soundwaves
-something to recieve the soundwaves
So if a tree falls in the forest when nobody is around, then you don't have the reciever/the ear because you need something the interpret it so it can count as sound.It.can only be concluded as EnergY WaveS.
P.S. The carrier is air.

Yes. Sound is basically just wave of disturbance in air molecules causing them to vibrate, which is interpreted by the ear as a sound. Even if noone is around to hear it, the disturbance still occurs, which means that it does in fact make a sound.

This is a great old philosophical question. What it is really about is the concept that if you do something positive, and yet nobody knows about it, is it still a positive event. The answer is to reflect upon your own personal gratification or benefit of accomplishing something, even if nobody else knows. It is also about the far reaching eventual affects of your actions.
And you thought it was about trees.
So what do you think, does it make a sound??
