got a nasty cold and would like to compare tottie recipes, preferrably with spiced rum.... any suggestions?

1/2 Cup of Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup of Sugar
1/2 Lb. Butter
1 Pint of Vanilla Ice Cream
Blend all ingredients in a food
processor or mixer and store in
the fridge or freezer.
To make a drink add a shot of good
Dark Rum along with 1 or 2 tbl
spoons of batter to a mug of very
hot water.

Traditional Scottish Whisky Tottie
Well Matured Scotch Whisky - (2 fl oz)
Boiling water
Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Sugar or Honey - 2-3 teaspoons
In a mug, dissolve sugar or honey in 1/2 cup boiling water. Pour in 1 -2 shots of whisky, add lemon juice and stir.

Hot Cider Toddy
A popular version of a toddy made with apple juice or cider:
1 gallon Apple Cider
Two cups dark Rum
15 Whole Cinnamon Sticks
Combine all ingredients in pot on stove and heat to just before boiling. Serve war

Another version recommended when nursing a cold or sore throat.
Tea Hot Toddie
In a large mug put in 1 to 2 (or more) ounces of your favorite bourbon, brandy, rum, or whiskey, add honey and lemon juice to taste. If you have fresh ginger or a lemon, add some slices. Can add a couple cloves or cinnamon sticks.
Put in a tea bag or two of your favorite herbal tea like echinacea tea, ginger, mint or sleepytime, or chamomile tea. Add hot water and stir. Remove tea bag when steeped to your tastes.

Hot Toddy

1 tbsp honey
3/4 glass tea
2 shots brandy
1 slice lemon

Brew tea and fill a tall glass 3/4 full. Mix in honey. Mix in brandy shots. Add lemon slice and enjoy.

Serve in: Collins Glass

Try this..guaranteed to take away all chills and cure what ails you!!!


3/4 cup steaming hot, strongly brewed tea
1/2 tsp lemon juice
2 tbls good whiskey,
good bourbon or try spiced rum!:-)
1 tbls honey
1 cinnamon stick
1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)


Put all into large mug, stir with cinnamon stick!!


Makes 1 serving.
Can and should be doubled...remember, its nice to share!!!!!
