I saw a program on PBS called "Warplane" and in part of it they discussed Lancaster Bombers being made of wood - skins too. Nobody believes me and i can find no info no matter where I search. Please help if you know anything.

The LANC was made of Aluminium , the MOSSIE was Marine Ply and the Photo Reccie Canberra's tail section is still made of wood and that bird has been flying since the 50's

I agree, I never heard about wooden Lancaster.The most famous wooden plane of the WW2 is De Havilland Mosquito DH.98.
I only heard about the first prototype of Short Stirling(Quite similar to Lancaster) that was wooden and it crushed during the first landing.

It wasn't a lancaster, it was the de Havilland Mosquito, they called it the 'Timber Terror'. It was made out of wood because aluminum was in such short supply.

there was a bomber during ww2 called the Avro Lancaster have no idea about its construction or other facts about it
