Seems might redundant to me!

To facilitate the need of the religious to delude themselves that it is somehow different.

Mythology does not necessarily include god(s) and faith. Religion has some sort of diety and sprituality often involves a relationship with "the other." Mythology is also usually "dead" while religions and philosophies are practiced today.

This gets asked 50 times a day and should just have a locked thread on it... but on the assumption that you havent asked it yourself before now, I'll give you the answer I give everyone else that asks.

Spirituality and Religion are things people BELIEVE in... myths and folklore are not. If YOU feel God is a myth then you should post your questions in the other section.

myths and legends....is their a diff.

religion tends be a practice...

myths may have had a practice in the past, but not anymore. more academic, educational, or entertaining. if the myth becomes a spiritual experience, then i would go with it being a religion.

I sometimes think there should be a section called "belief and the nature of illusion" - i feel that both are true and real

mythology deals a lot more with stories and creatures/monsters.

harpies, cyclops, medusa, etc. whereas religion deals more with different beliefs in gods.
