According to the Christians I know and the studies I have done of scriptures and churches, anyone who did not make a certain set of spiritual decisions and live a certain way before death, is currently suffering in the fires of hell, no matter what understandable reasons that person might have had for rejecting those beliefs.

This would include my mother. That's why I left the church.

I just can't fit that into my brain anymore. No God of love would do that - or allow that to happen. I know we have free will, but any loving father, if he saw his child walking toward the edge of a high cliff toward a certain painful death, would yank the child back. If he didn't do this, you could not call him loving.

Before you flame my answer please remember that these statements are coming from a place of grief for my mother.

Not necessarily. But one might make a new question in the spirit of the original one: Will it be a heaven if there´s a sign at the gate saying,NO DOGS ALLOWED...? Animals can not get to heaven ´cause they aren´t supposed to have a soul. So going to heaven means getting bored out of your skull.

God tells us the heavens belong to him and earth belongs to mankind.
The bible states the living are conscience they will die but the dead are conscience of nothing at all. When we die we go into a deep sleep of death until the resurection.. Jesus was dead for three days before his father resureccted him.. he was a perfect man so he would not go to a holding cell or a place called hell toment.. ( Hell is hebrew for grave) all our dead ones are in a deep sleep of death awaiting the resurection.. Remember the penalty for sin is death.. so once a person dies their sins are also washed away..As for who will be resurecction this only lies in our Heavenly Fathers will.. Remember Jesus taught us in the model prayer, Thy Kingdom come they will be done on earth as it is in heaven.. We know the new heavens were cleaned up in 1914 and iornicaly that is when WW! broke out.. so we just await for the new earth where in Jesus said in the last days millions would never die.. I follow the scriptures.. The only ones who are going to heaven are the apostles where Jesus spoke to them not us and said he would prepare an abode for them.. they are part of the 144,000 who will help Jesus Reign over the earth Rev. 20 and 21.

I have no clue...but then again, heaven isn't limitted by space and time so the question might not even work since the state of "being" might be so different that you can't even distinguish "individuals."

My Dad has a rather unique belief about heaven - he says that heaven is being the THE presense of the Almighty God. How can one think of anything other than God when right in front of Him?

Heavy theology and ontology aside, I do think that in heaven we are surrounded by our loved ones.

I have faith and believe that when we go to heaven our family and friends will be there. I remember talking to my mom about heaven when I was a little girl and she always told me that she'll be waiting in heaven for me someday. As Christians we know that heaven holds something remarkable and special for us. That once we arrive there all the people we had loved on earth will be waiting for us with open arms.

I'm not sure anyone can really state for sure what we will be doing in "heaven" or whether we'll be "with" our families in a socializing/neighborhood sort of way. I think we'll probably be pretty busy and be involved, and may not have a lot of time to mingle anyway (although I'm sure we'll enjoy each other in passing). I guess we'll all just wait and see!

What the others are affirming about toddlers going to heaven is actual. this is because of the " Age of responsibility ". i experience that is both 12 or 13. only positioned, earlier to this age the guy is considered to be a toddler in God's eyes. which means they're not mature adequate to make a range related to eternity. once you attain that age, the responsibility is yours. i ought to imagine that even a chance of this can make the atheist check out faith. does not they take any chance to be with their toddler back ?

Well it depends. If our family members are saved we will see them there but if some of them are not we will also see them there but they will be on the other side. During the White throne judgement is when we will see the people who werent saved. Thats when God judges them for the sins they've done on earth. Sadly enough after that they will be cast into the lake of fire. But God is a just and merciful God. Every single one of those people had a chance to accept and believe in Him but they didnt.

Yes, those who have been saved will be together. Some will be lost. But we will be shown how God has constantly tried to reach out to them throughout their lives, and how they rejected Him time after time. Then the family members in Heaven will be able to see that God's judgment was just.

Well the only people who go to Heaven are those who God SAYS go to Heaven, being friends or relations to someone doesnt give them instant entrance. I certainly hope more than anything that my friends and family will be there.
