That is just bizzarre.
I'm wondering if something else happened to the baby's toes and they're blaming it on the dog.

Sadly, this isn't the first or last time something "like this" will happen.
There was a story a few years back about how a mom laid the newborn baby on the floor with a 7 week old puppy and went upstairs. By the time she came down, the puppy had chewed the baby's ears off, I believe. The father dismembered the puppy...
I do NOT blame the puppy or dog in these situations!!! This is entirely negligent on the parents!
That puppy was actually to young to have even been taken from it's own mom and litter mates...
Disgusting....
I'm so fed up with stupid people...

If the parents were sleeping beside the child like they say?they would have woken up long before the puppy would have a chance to do much damage because a child that young will scream blue murder when they are hurt. Either the parents left the dog and the kid alone in the house for a good couple of hours or they were on some good drugs to sleep thru that. It would take a couple of hours to do damage because the baby would be kicking and screaming the whole time so the pup would have to catch the foot a couple of times. but i dont believe the pup did it. I reckon the parents did it and blamed the dog.

Something isn't right with this story. I found a different article that mentioned that the father gave a couple of different versions of the story to the police, and the article also mentioned that there was ferret in the house..
However, even if it was the puppy who chewed he baby's toes, it it would have taken some time to do it. Why wasn't the baby crying when the pup allegedly first stated chewing her toes, and if the baby did stat crying right away, why didn't the parents hear it? Believe me, I can sleep thought an atom bomb going off in my ear, but when my daughters were little, I woke immediately as the first sound they made. They both had to be high on something no matter what it was that started the chewing.
The entire situation is sadder than sad.

That is unfortunate. Even pit puppies still have puppy teeth. There is no reason why the parents shouldn't have been able to hear her crying or something. As the article said, it wouldn't have been an easy job for the dog. I personally would suspect some other abuse from the parents that was covered by the dog excuse (sadly, because it's a pit enough people would believe it so it won't matter anyways). The pit puppies I know wouldn't have the jaw power, tooth strength, or patience to do this. I'm flabbergasted, both by the parents blatant neglect and how the dog could have done this....

I want to know what the parents were high on when this happened. It is so so sad for the puppy and the baby, and I hope that they kill the parents not the puppy.
Another thing that is sad, it probably would not have made the news if it wasn't a pit puppy. Sometimes I think that the news only focuses on dog problems when their are pits involved.

I think the parents must have been on crack not to hear this baby screaming and crying! It's not the puppy's fault! If they were sleeping on a mattress on the floor and their baby was in a car seat then obviously they had no money. The puppy was probably starving. But in further thinking about it, I think that something is amiss here. I would tend not to believe these people. I think that an investigation really needs to be done to uncover the truth because someone here is lying!!!

How awful!! I wonder if they did something to the baby, and are blaming the dog. How could anyone just sleep through that? The poor baby had to suffer that pain for how long, too? I have to say, being FOX news it is possible that the whole thing is fake. It would take at least an hour for a puppy to do that, and there was no real reason for it to do so. Besides, why would you want a Pit Bull with a newborn in the same house?

That is the stupidest thing i have ever heard of! I mean I checked out the site and that puppy is WAY to young to bite off a kids toe let alone 4! I mean its teeth hadnt fully developed yet! Even if the puppy could have biten off the kids toes the parents would have heard the kid crying. I'm sorry but this doesnt sound too factual to me.

The puppy was only a few weeks old, and the baby was in between the napping parents? I'd call that practically impossible.
Pit bulls get a bad rap anyway, and this sort of thing just makes it worse. Put those parents in jail and find out what REALLY happened to the poor baby's foot!

I bet you this is a cover up for child abuse! Perhaps they slammed a door on their child's toes and that's why they feel off. I don't buy that puppy theory at all.
And IF the puppy DID do it - that means the puppy was probably close to starving to death and was desperate - that has happened - heck it's even happened to people.
