To boil water in the microwave, you generally need 4 minutes for 1 cup; 6 minutes for 2 cups; 10 minutes for 4 cups.
If container is hot to the touch, use pot holders to remove from oven.

It all depends on the power and quality of the microwave. I can usually get water boiling in about 2 minutes, 30 seconds on mine. It works best in a metal cup. Good luck.

About 2 1/2 to 3 minutes. (Depending on how much water that needs to be boiled. (My estimate assumes the "1 Cup" measurement).
Also, it depends on your altitude.
