I've recently set up a website aimed at getting some kitties that live on the street near my place into homes. It has live streaming video of the kitties needing homes at night, and my kitties in the day. For awhile I was getting a good response, but now it's quietened down, and I need to figure out how to get it happening again as I've already taken 3 months off work for the project and really need to get some of these kitties into forever homes! Ideas?? It's for a good cause...I"m paying for the desexing, vaccinations, aids & FelV testing etc.... the site is http://www.kittiesinthehood.com
Please don't post negative things like bringing them to a shelter...I am rehoming them whether you like it or not! And the rescue groups have helped as much as they can.
I have already adopted 8 myself, and really need help with the other 12!

All of these cats are quite happy living in doors and not one of them has tried to go back out. My experience, and the experience of many others that rescue these cats, is most are like that...they really prefer life indoors and don't want to go back to life on the street! They are happy they have been rescued!

I was the president of Ouachita Students Concerned About Animal Rights, in high school. It wasn't until I graduated, though, that I got my first cat. My neighbor at the time took in 2 stray cats. Both liked to come and go as they pleased, but they chose her to live with. She just let them in and fed them. Convincing a cat to live with you after it's been free is difficult. A good choice might be just to find someone in a very rural area and let them feed the cats. If there are enough mice and small critters around, they might even be able to feed themselves. Just remember, don't try to force a cat to live indoors if it puts up a big fight. They can be dangerous when they feel threatened. One friend of mine keeps about 20 cats at a time and she lives a good distance from a lot of heavy traffic and has a large piece of land. The majority of those cats never come into her house. It's wonderful that you can afford to do everything you are doing and that your ready and willing. Most people with the means refuse to do anything for animals.

awesome, keep up the good work. I personally took in a kitten from a tree and named her "Tess" shes perfect indoors occasionally wants to go play and exercise outdoors. I noticed some of the other comments, plp keep in mind their age has a lot do to with how they will turn up. The younger the better the'll adapt, still they all deserve a chance....

I think street cats can live very nicely with people who don't need a lap cat. You may post signs in senior centers or community centers. Make sure you let people know they are ferrel and won't probably be too trusting.

There are street cats around my house, I feed them, but when I bring them inside, they tear up everything so I let them be.

I sure would. If you don't, who will. And this cat is obviously desperate so don't be afraid to share your love with this cat.
