It is optional for me to log on to this website. It is also optional for you to do so. So if I choose to go to the Religion and Spirituality category to talk about my christian beliefs, do you unbelievers feel as though I am forcing my beliefs onto you? If so, why? As long as I am not abusive to others I should not be described as ramming my faith down someone's throat. Is it possible that some of you are overly defensive? If a christian did something wrong to you in the past, does that justify you treating me the same way?

It depends on HOW you talk about it. "I understand, but you're going to hell" is an example of pushing. "I understand, I just hold different beliefs that tell me you are following the wrong path" would be acceptable. The first says "I'm right. You're wrong." The second says "I'm secure in my belief that I'm right, but acknowledge that those are my beliefs."

Also, if it's the second time to tell someone they're wrong, you're pushing.

I'm a Christian as well and have wondered why Atheist come to this religion and spirituality section at all.
I believe some just want entertainment.
Some are really seeking but have been turned off by some sort of hypocrisy or something.
At any rate I am so relieved to here you are not abusive or disrespectful toward people of other faiths.
It is pretty silly to go to a web page on religion and spirituality to argue with people that they are wrong.
God Bless You as people who show their fruits like patience and long suffering are the ones who further God's plan.

I do not come here for information somuchas I do to learn about the nature of the connection people have with their beliefs. Some are upset by my questions, probably because they are doubting their own beliefs on some level of their being. My questions are inoffensive, however, I have received answers that are... less than kind. My true purpose here is to try and get people to open up to new ways of thinking - I in no way try to force any belief on other souls.

Of course not. It's through peaceful communication that peace between different faiths can occur. Also being a Christian it is part of my faith to share it and this is an excellent way to do that. Remember that you can't force a religion on someone because in the end it's there choice they make in there heart.

No, you are not forcing your beliefs on anyone because they choose to read your questions and answers. They have a chioce not to read them as well.

You should realize that many people are not going to agree with your beliefs and will persecute you for them. If someone does you wrong, what is the proper thing to do? No matter what you are Christian, Muslim, JW, or whatever, you should forgive them and not strike out at others because of it. As a person it is the right thing to do, not because it's Christian, but it's just the right thing to do. That's being a good Christian.

No I think it is great for you to talk about your faith. I want to hear all about it. This is what we are encouraged to do. Some of these people here make our beliefs even stronger, when they are actually trying to sway us from our Lord. Many things are funny and I can take a good joke anytime. Some are more serious and all those who mock our Lord will have to answer to Him one day. All will bow before Him and recognize Him. God Bless you and keep in the Word.

If people are accusing you of that then there is something wrong with the way they are understanding, and or viewing their faith in the first place and they're putting the blame on you.
What they ought to do is to clean out their own back porches first before they come and tell you how to clean yours.
As for me you're doing me no harm.

It depends on how you "talk" about your faith. Some people on here are really pushy (that puts it really mildly). So if you say anything even remotely peaceful, they jump down you throat. Get used to it on here, just ignore the ugly one, there are some genuine folks one here. Hint*** we have all heard about Jesus *** "share" your faith, and you might have more a positive experience.

I have not read all of your questions, this is just answering the question. Peace

Yes. So stop it.
Bleagh.

Seriously, no. Unless you've got some kind of lawmaking ability and are trying to legislate your version of morality on me and my life and my family, I could give a tin sh!t what you believe or want to talk about here. But if you say something dumb, you're fair game, just like all the rest of us here, be they atheist, agnostic, christian, muslim, or whatever. Suck it up.

Not at all if that is all you are doing. It is mostly what happens because of your faith outside of here that we have a problem with.

If you are advocating changing the law to force us to pay to promote your religion as many here do, then you are. Anything that you advocate that would force us outside of here is, even if you only say so here.
