Religion and Spirituality is the reason we are reading and answering these questions, but what we get from this is hate and judgement of a whole because of an individual. How can we help the world to understand that we are all so special in our uniqueness, yet we are all so human?

The only good is knowledge, and the only evil is ignorance
- Diogenes Laertius

The way to understanding and compassion is knowledge, and the way to knowledge is curiosity and questioning. - ME

Until we teach the next generation to question everything they hear, read, or see instead of teaching unquestioning obedience there will continue to be ignorance, hate and judgement in this world.

Lindsey. Wow. The question you ask is the only question we should ask, and yet, still, there is no answer. Actually, there is no answer that the "whole" is willing to accept. I'm not sure which "individual" you are referring to, there are so many. Peace is not something to be created, because it already exists. Unfortunately, it does not live in all Men (and of course, Women). It is intersting that this question is asked here in Religion and Spirituality rather than in Philosophy. I say that, only because the effect that religion has had throughout the ages has not been one of peace, but rather, war. I'm sure that there are many who will answer this question by telling you that if you trust in God and follow His will then you will find peace. It is that thought process that guarantees that Peace will truly not ever be realized Worldwide. You said it yourself, "How can we help the world to understand...". It is the "My God is better than Your God" mentality that inhibits the natural flow of Peace. It is Human Nature to impose its' just morality on those "not fortunate enough" to share our wisdom. We want to "help" everyone achieve Peace. Even if we have to kill them to do it. If you look back throught history, more People have been killed in the Name of Religion than in any other cause. It is our sense of Righteousness that kills the Natural Spirit in Man. The words of a man, not so long ago, echo in my ears as I write this answer... "Imagine all the People livin' life in Peace. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope some day, you'll join us. And the world will live as One". Sadly, he was thought to be exactly that; a dreamer. Instead of realizing his dream, he was shot dead in the street. Some would say that Peace can only be found in death. Like so many dreamers before him who died "fighting" for Peace, he taught us the irony of it all. Peace is where you find it. To find it you must really be looking for it. If you're lucky enough to find it. Give it away. But never tell someone they can't have it because they don't look or think the same way you do. Pretty simple stuff, if you think about it. One day, maybe, after everyone is done killing each other in the name of Peace, there just might be enough of us left to say, "Okay, I get it. It was here all along". Good luck in your journey.

“Happy Are Those Conscious of
Their Spiritual Need”

Unlike animals, humans have a spiritual need
WHEN birds wake up in the morning, they often chirp for a while and then fly off in search of food. In the evening, they return to their roosts, chirp a little more, and go to sleep. In certain seasons they mate, lay eggs, and raise their young. Other animals follow a similarly predictable pattern.

We humans are different. True, we eat, sleep, and reproduce, but most of us are not content with just those things. We want to know why we are here. We seek meaning in our lives. We also desire a hope for the future. These deeper needs point to a quality that is unique to humankind—spirituality, or the need and capacity for spiritual things.

The reason there is no peace is because there is a war going on. I'm not talking about Iraq - I am talking about the ultimate ideological war between Good and Evil, between God and Satan, between the Truth and the Lie. Until you come to grips with the true nature of things as disclosed in the revelation of the Word of God, you will never know peace, within or without, because without righteousness, there can be no peace.

I believe you have to set a good example. Spead love. Sounds lame I know, but just as ignorance and hatred are spread so can peace love and understanding. It really can be a chain reaction.
Unfortunatly there will always be some ignorant people but the key is just to try and be patient and try to educate them the best you can.
I think many times when people encounter someone who is full of hate, they either are hatefull right back at them or don't bother.
Kill them with kindness, it works.

religion promotes hate against those not of their sect. religion causes seperation in humanity and this is seen all throughout time.

without religion perhaps people would be more unified?

regardless to that, people by nature want power and money, so with that said, fighting will always exist as long as someone is in power and others want that power. as long as some are rich and others are poor, as long as some have large amounts of land and others have very little.

We are not just human. We are made in the image of God and that gives us an understanding of God and we have a right to judge.
