you sound like you usually recieve a refund. According to what my HR Block Tax consultant said to me- you should be fine. The IRS mostly cares about money that was owed to them from completing tax returns. The simple rule is if you recieved a refund for the last 3 consectutive years you have up to 5 years to claim your anticipated refund for that particular year. On the other hand, If you miss paying the IRS what you owe them...well- they will accure intrest until you pay it off in full. They don't set the 5 year limit.

So long story short, you can have your taxes for both years completed at the same time for each tax year. If you end up filing and you owe from last year, then you send in the regular amount that is due the IRS and the IRS will send you a letter stating the accured intrest that is due.

Your accountant will take care of everything for you- so, relax and let your accountant take care of everythin.

Best Wishes and I hope this helps!

no, if you mean can you file your 06-07 returns together, they are filed/mailed separate and why would you wait to file if already in your hands assuming you prepared it already (you might lose it again)

if you simply forgot to mail, then do immediately. they give you 3 years to file to get your refund but dont use it theyll send you more mail than advertisers.

if you don't owe money then its no big deal, just mail it in...dont forget the state as well.

Yes, you can still file and, if you have a refund coming, you will receive it.

You must file it separate from this years stuff though. Do it and mail it now before the rush.
