Try a warm bath. Sometimes this calms my son enough to find out what is really wrong. Any way it is soothing, just make sure to stay with the baby ( I know that is obvious but I had to say it) Good luck.

How old is he? If he's just a baby, he may have gas or he may be constipated. Check his temperature, too. If he's a toddler, ask him if he has a tummy ache or if he's hungry. Rub his ears and if that seems to calm him a little, he may even have an ear ache. If nothing else, call his parents and ask them if this is normal behavior for him or to come pick him up. It is a very stressful situation. Don't panic and don't stress. If you feel you can't take it anymore, stick him in a playpen or crib, shut the door, and try to relax.

How old is he? I was going to say if he was under 6 months of age that maybe he's colicky but if he's playing ball with you or you're trying to play it with him, then I guess he's older.

Maybe he's sick? Is he running a fever? Teething? Is his tummy hurting or a full belly of gas? Is he hungry? Or maybe he just misses his mommy or daddy. If it doesn't happen all of the time, I don't know what to tell you, hopefully it passes though! Just let his parents know what went on when they come to get him.

After checking temp, teeth, and diaper, give him a gentle poke in the belly. He may be colicy (oh, the horror). I heard if you put like a quarter of an Altoid in a bottle of luke warm water that the peppermint helps to ease their tummy.
Please, though, don't take my word for it. Go onto Google and type in "home remedy for colic". That should give you some good ideas. If none of that works, call his mother and tell her to come get him and take him to the doctor!

Two is too old to be crying constantly like an infant sometimes does. He had a fever yesterday, there is something wrong and he doesn't feel well. Sorry it's driving you crazy, but he's not misbehaving, he's sick!

A 2 year old is not a baby!! Maybe he wants his mommy. Maybe he is just being a 2 year old.... Try different things until he finds something to take his mind off of whatever it is bothering him.

He may just need a nap! Ask his mother what his usual schedule is and try to follow it. Otherwise, walking babies around and showing them different things works 99 percent of the time for me. If one of mine gets overly fussy we just walk the house.
