i asked a girl out and she said maybe. worst thing ever. maybe usually means no. i asked why and she said she thinks of me as a friend. i've only known her for about 3 weeks though. i know she doesn't want to go out with me, but whats up with that.
the two things that burn a guy the most are the words maybe and friend. whats so hard with just saying no.
and why is it that some girls want to be friends and then date and then others don't want to be friends first, but a guy can never use the right stradegy with the right girl?!?!?!?!

a girl says maybe because she means no but doesn't want to be rude to you. That's good that you understand that maybe means no cause see a lot of guys don't get that and they become annoying bug a boos. She says she wants to be friends but she doesn't she just doesn't want you to ask her out anymore. She'd probably be cool with being acquaintances and if y'all see each other there would definitely be some hellos exchanged but nothing more. One day though you'll meet that girl that won't want to be your friend and will be so up for going out on a date. don't waste your time on this girl who doesn't want to give you the time of day.

It is usually true when a Girl says "Maybe" that it actually means "No". And they usually say this because it seems like an easier way to say "No" without hurting the Guys feelings. If she just wants to be Friends then so be it, at least she is being honest with you. But you never know, a Girls feelings can change, and maybe you'll get the answer you want sooner or later.

First of all, we think it won't hurt you as much if we try to squeeze in some hope for you with "maybe" and "friend." It's hard on us to say no because we don't want to steamroll you -- we know we'll feel terrible, and you will too, if we use the two-letter word symbolizing rejection: no.
Some date to get to know you, maybe see if you're worth it, others do just to have a boyfriend, and sometimes we do it just for fun.
Sometimes we'd rather be girlfriends to you than friends. It's all a matter of personal preference.
Hmm...depends on the girl...some like romanticism, and others think it's corny(I'm one who votes corny). The right strategy can never be achieved, but make her laugh and make an absolute fool out of yourself by tripping while trying to act tough or something. If you can make her laugh, you've got her thoroughly interested.

Here's what I think and I'm probably going to get bashed my chicks but... When I girl says she would rather be friends it's because she is interested in someone else and if things with that dude don't work out she has a list of "Friends" to call...
Women NEED to feel wanted and loved and adored and if they aren't getting it from someone they WANT they get it from the next best thing...a "friend" that has been there to pick her up when she got dumped...just my take...
as for a strategy... Numbers!!! Don't waste your time worrying about why some chick isn't interested...because you could miss one that is why you're all negative thinking something might be wrong with you...
Remember for ever 5 chicks that turn you down there will be on the likes what you're working with...ya dig!

Sometimes a female want a friend to go out to the movies or out to dinner, to see if it is something to pursue.
When you date there the issue of an intimate realtionship that they may not want.
Those that jump into a realationship they are just being fast and you don't want a fast relationship because they burn out very quickly so it just depends on the girl

What do you mean "usually means no"? It always means no! If they like you and they can talk to you otherwise, they will love it if you ask them out! Three weeks is long enough too.
Why don't they say just say no? It's because they don't want the guilt associated with hurting your feelings. I find that it's rare for girls to want to be friends first . . . most of the time when they say that they really mean that they don't want to go out with you. It's so cruel to do, but they think they're doing us a favor or something. Good night!
