I dont know enough about different religions to answer this question but find it weird how many people are replying with "glandular" and "hard to loose weight". Sure, in a tiny number of cases, but how come you never see nature documentaries of fat lions, monkeys or even documentaries about people in poor areas of the world who are overweight? thats because you dont get fat in the first place if you eat sensible food that you need rather than just what you want, and exercise a bit. Sounds harsh, but as long as people keep making excuses for addicts (eating can be an addiction) theyll not want to change. Bleeding hearts do them no favours.

That's a great question. Now eating more than u need is a sin, but eating the wrong food can also cause obesity. The body is the temple of God, so it is our duty to take care of it, but so many other things like hormonal imbalance can make it difficult for someone to lose weight, so NO obesity is not always a sin. but it sure can be.

Depending on one's religion these are not sins.

But, besides that, where does it say it's a requirement for religious people to be completely without sin? We're human, we sin...even the best of us.

The sin is gluttony. That is unless there is a gland problem and/or it is a medical issue.

I am a Christian, this does not make me sinless, just saved from my sin, Praise God!

Rubbish ! Your spelling is also sinful, improve it BEFORE you pick faults with others! God is a myth allowing weak people to attack the innocent.

Because in the vast majority of cases obese is not by choice and, therefore, cannot be sinful.

There are biological causes of obesidy (and even general weight gain) that have nothing to do with greed or sloth.

Yeah, but some people are just big anyways. You shouldn't judge the outward. There are plenty of "skinny" people who are gluttons.
