Don't you mean upper GI?

You do an upper GI (gastrointestinal) series to check for obstructions and such in the stomach and intestines.

TO see if everything is working the way it should be. Obviously there is some symptoms you are having for him to look a lot closer.

This is the place you have pain, so, this is where he/she is looking for the problem.
