I need some advice from other parents who may have dealt with the same issue Im having with my 19mo son. Every morning he wakes up and his pj's and blankets are wet. I have stopped giving him anything to drink about and hour before bedtime and when he wakes up his diaper isnt even that full. It looks like he is sticking his hands down his diaper when he sleeps and the urine is coming out of the top of the diaper. I have tried putting onsies on him to prevent him from doing that but he still wakes up wet. Does anyone have anyother suggestions for me to try?

Its getting old giving him a bath every am and changing sheets everyday. I think I wash sheets and blankets more than I do clothes :(

Make sure his penis is pointing down when the diaper is put on. Are his diapers the wrong size by any chance? My 17 month old son always leaks when I need to go up a size. If he wakes up during the night I change him to prevent him soaking through, and I always set him on the potty to see if he needs to go before laying him down in bed. The cold air usually makes him pee if he needs to. If I think of anything else I'll let you know. Good luck.
If you put down one of those large soaker pads you will only need to wash that and not the entire bedding.
Also, putting a size larger diaper over top his other one could help to soak up extra urine.

Hon, there is nothing else you can do. Just keep changing the sheets. They make really nice changeable pads that feel sort of like a thick flannel that you can out on top of the sheets nightly. My son also slept very deeply and did not wake when his bladder was full. It will happen with time. If people say punish him, please ignore that advice as it is counterproductive. Anxiety makes matters worse. The accidents will be less frequent and before you know it they will be a distant memory. Even for a child of six or seven an occasional accident is not uncommon. You are doing the right thing by not making a big deal out of it. After all, we all eventually get it, don't we?

if he is putting his hands down his diaper, find a stuff toy or blanket to cuddle. just for him, just for bedtime. make sure you can wash it too.
maybe try a bit more time before bed, an hour is not really long, that or less to drink.
some kids will have wetting problems for quite a while. the body sometimes takes longer to develop muscle control with the bladder.
maybe he gets too warm or cold while sleeping and could trigger the wetting issue.

A full body sleeper that he can't get into might be a first step.
You might also try a diaper liner/diaper doubler, which will help absorb some of the urine.
Another idea is to perhaps put a training pant on top of the onesie, which is on top of the diaper. Maybe then his hands will go inside the training pant, not the diaper.
Good luck.

it is more desirable hardship-free than an excellent type of persons imagine. one in all my daughters moist the mattress till she became a youngster. We had to take her to an enuresis (particularly for this kind of shock). We did each of the same old lifting by using the evening, we were wiped out. Even tried a touch alarm which connected to the pyjamas with a touch probe going right into a panty liner. once the probe receives moist the alarm is going off and it gained't supply up till the probe is dry. My daughter would sleep by using the alarm! She is 26 now and does no longer have any type of shock, she became only a very heavy sleeper. reliable success

as long as you and him are getting a good nites sleep, who cares. if the wetness isn't bothering him, let it be. my son is 3 and he wakes up alot with urine going thru his diaper as well. gets his pj's wet/sheets wet. doesn't seem to bother him and it doesn't bother me. get extra sheets and blankets so that u won't have to do so much laundry. you know, maybe the diapers any brand can't handle a good long nite sleep. they should make the diapers better.

they make some overnight diapers I think by Huggies. They are thicker. Make sure his diaper is on tight enough and make sure his private isn't pointing up. If it is when you put the diaper on then when he goes to the bathroom it is going up. The most absorbant part of the diaper is down. Try to make it point down when you put his diaper on before bed.

boy parenting should never "get old Relax this might happen till the child is much older this is allot to expect from a 19 month old baby My suggestion is take a big breath calm down and welcome to parent hood . it will get better have you started potty training yet? If not then that is the problem you would pee the bed to if your underware was your toilet so relax and it will work its self out once he is potty trained it will be a little easier to get him though the night with out a wet bed . Good Luck !

I would put tape on him, like a belt over his pj, not on his skin.Do not do it tight and make a game out of spinning him around. Take it off first thing in the morning.

try putting him in a one piece sleeper. They have ones that you can zip up then there is a piece that snaps over the zipper so they can't unzip it.
Maybe that will help.
