Yes!!! I don't know what area you are in but I am from Ga. There is a program here that supplies food to individuals in our situation. It's the greatest thing that ever happened to me! It is a food program through the Southern Baptist ministries. It's not a hand out, you have to pay for the food. You have a flyer sent out to you by mail each month that lists a menu of the food available for purchase the following month. The food prices are very reasonable! It is a non profit organization. That's why it is so cheap. They charge wholesal prices
You have to order and pay for the food in advance. Your only obligation is to pick it up on the specified day and time. If you fail to do so before the pick up day it is donated to needy families in the area. It is called ANGEL FOOD MINISTERIES. I know they have other chapters throughout the USA. You don't have to be a member of the church. They don't have any other requirments than what I have listed, I wish you all the luck. This was a life saver for me. I hope it helps you as much as it did me!!! Merry Christmas

One pot meals is a good way to make your money go farther at the grocery store. Rice is cheap, noodles, beans.
You can buy meat that is in the discount bin as long as it still looks ok and is not starting to get brown. Just check the date and look at it real good. I buy the store brand of most things. My grocery bill is not too high. I really watch what I buy. I mostly by only things that are either on sale or the store brand.
You can buy frozen loaves of bread dough alot cheaper and it tastes better. I bought 5 loaves for under 3 dollars and I just take out one loaf and thaw as needed.

Can you go to the grocery store or does someone go for you? You need to make a list of foods that you like and are good for you. Then you need to do some comparison shopping. Find out which store has the best prices. Don't buy brand names--store brands are just as good. Stay away from junk food, sodas. You can buy BIG packages of chicken, beef, pork...then you take it home and put each piece in individual bags and freeze them. It is much cheaper. Also, check your local food banks. You can get boxed and canned foods from them....just don't get meat, breads and vegetables from them. No good.

I go to a senior center where they serve lunch at low price and it's what you can afford.
I would recomend your checking out local senior centers in your area. These centers often have programs that offer free can goods at no cost.
