any lotion with aloe in it is great, but even better if you keep it in the fridge to make it nice & cold. As for your head, I think your just gonna have to get over not wanting it in your hair & rub the stuff in. Also take a Advil or other for pain .

OUch that sounds like it hurts. That happened to me in June IT HURTS SOOO BAD! OKay first you want to gently tap it witha cool soft cloth. Then you should put Aloe Vera on it. If you can with out freezing to death, wear a halter top. Those make it feel sooooo much better. DO NOT put on an ice pack! It will give you sooo many blisters it will be wicked gross. And don't take a shower for a little while(not a couple days) but wait until tomorrow night or something to relive the pain a little and let it breath. You should be all set. GOOD LUCK!

P.S DO NOT go in the sun again for a while! Trust me. I did it.

Your local pharmacy will have an over the counter anesthetic ointment for sun burns. You may also want to follow this up with some application of Aloe over the next couple of days. That should help. Wear sun protection in the future though. Take it from me, I'm from Florida. The Sunshine State is no joke when it comes to that.

Use pure aloe vera gel..i got really badly sun burnt and that really helped..baby oil was even better but you cant go out anywhere near the sun/light..make sure you were a cap and white t-shirt if you do go out (white reflects the light).

Good luck and hope you feel better soon!

Excessive sunburns in your youth will become skin cancer in your Senior years. Avoid the sun.

Take a couple of Excedrin every 4 hours and use Asparcream on your skin gently, they will both kill the pain.

I sympathize. I'm a redhead, been there and done that.

You will smell really bad, but if you pour vinegar over your sunburn, i will take the burn out. Another option is that hottest shower that you can handle but that is painful. I have very fair skin and burn all the time. Trust me this will help. Hope you fell better soon.

Aloe Vera is what us folks in Arizona put on sunburns. Most of us have learned the hard way (like you) to use sunscreen!
