I met this girl through mutual friends and we have known each other for over a year. We always have a good time together and enjoy each others company. Last week she tells me that I would make the perfect boyfriend for her but that the age difference bothers her. I never really thought of her as a potential girlfriend but when she told me that I started looking at her differently and I realized that I am attracted to her and that she would be an awesome girlfriend. We both are confused because she is afraid what her friends and family will think and I don't know if I should pursue her or just remain friends. She's 21 and I'm 31.

if the age difference bothers her then it will never work out no matter how you feel about each other. If what her friends and family think are going to influence the relationship then it's not going to work out. Relationship are about the two of you and how you feel and what you think, not about how others will view you. But it sees like the age thing bothers her and you are bothing going to take the extra gossip of your friends into consideration and if that's the case, then dont even bother going for it because it will get it the way and not work out.

To me, it's not that big of a deal. It's whether you love the person or not. I believe if you truly love a person then nothing should bother you--age, sex, race, background, etc. While in an ideal situation it would be great to have approval of friends and family, it's not always possible. It's really up to you and her and what you both think that matters in the end.

You're way too old be to confused and scared about what her family and friends will think. You're concerned because you're much too old for her. She knows it. You know it. Her family and friends know it. Find a girl 27-32 and leave her to guys her own age.

That's a HUGE difference...maybe in 3 or 4 years it will be normal...don't put her in an awkard situation and remain friends from now on.

just be friends with benifets and ask your friends what they will think if yall do but don't tell them unless they say that its kool but age really doesn't matter when it comes to love and sex. because I've seen 80 year old men dating 19 year old girls, the girls just wanted some dick and they guy was welling to try everything he could to get it up just to do someone so young. but anyway

it might not matter at all.
but you find that even if someone younger than you can be mature, or seems mature, there are still things that they have not experienced in life and they do not understand things the same way someone your own age may.
there will be differences in your thought patterns, but it may not matter that much.
