Where is her mother? Your friend could easily be forever scarred by the actions of her father. YOU tell Social Services, or the counselor at school, or talk to the police yourself to find out what can be done. Her father most likely will not stop with just one instance and she needs to be protected from him. She is embarrassed, in shock, and totally stripped of her self esteem. Your friend may not be able to report him to anyone because of this so it is up to you as her friend to do so.

This is tricky! We all know what we would like to happen. She goes to the police and he gets put away. But it is never as easy as that. I would say that being a reliable and supportive friend, and shoulder to cry on, is the best that you can really do. Your friend has a terrible burden to carry and the more help she gets the better, but, as I think you realise, things have to go at her pace and no-one elses. I wish you both luck!

Find your local rape crises centre and see if your friend will ring them or someone like the samaritans. You can ring them yourself and they will be able to guide you on how best to deal with this situation. Is it possible your friend can leave the house and stay at yours or another family member so that they can have breathing space to start dealing with their emotions? You cannot make your friend go to the Police but you can support her and guide her to people that can help her.

Get a counsellor to come and see your friend. You don't want any police in uniform to see your friend, but she must speak to someone from the police to stop this happening to her again.

Just try to be there for her and make sure that she knows you will listen and not judge, she might think it was her fault. you can not rush someone into admitting somthing like that to the authorities just be patient and try to keep her away from her dad she may be very intimidated by him. all in all just be a friend. she will decide what to do for the best just make sure that you give her the options.

Go to the police anonymously. I would/could never hold a secret like that--especially if she is still living at home with him. Good luck!

This is a hard one, but maybe you could go to the police yourself and ask them the same question.
