That has been a threat since 1945. So far so good. What is really frightening is that there is a very scary strain of humans in existence these days -- those that do not care if they die and take the whole world with them. I do not agree with Bush on much of anything, but his fear of a terrorist having a nuclear weapon is not unfounded. I wish I could answer "no" to your question, but I can't. I am also loath to say "yes." So, I'll have to sit on the fence and answer "maybe" to your question.

People are so ambitious to get more... the same would happen with technology...people would want to create smarter and stronger machines that if we dont control our ambition they will destroy us....so yes it can happen but we can stop it too.

Technology should actually benefit mankind and not destroy
it.But if mankind is blind to science and uses it to gain power whether it be economically or geografically then it could help to destroy mankind

I believe so....I think we were far more better in the stone age...although we are modernised but we are far more unhappy from within, so many new diseases, trauma, blood pressure...do you think that people were worried about paying bills and stress.
And not that people were not civilized, many early civilizations show that people had families.
I think the more we get modernised, more we are heading towards dooms-day!

That is the ultimate test. Can we survive our own technological prowess? Only time will tell.

What a very silly question...
When we lived in trees, vines were "technology"
When we lived in caves, fire was "technology"
When we learned about clay & fire, bricks were "technology"
When we learned how to use roots & leaves as medicine, that was "technology"...
Then the real learning began...

The technology won't destroy us, the people using it might though. I think mother nature will sort us out first, though.

it certainly looks like it might....just consider this...so many ppl have become isolated from each other just by the mere fact of spending our socialization via the computer. and just look at some of the questions on here, its scary the serious issues are being answered on this site alone.
