ADDED: I was taking Flagyl but it made me terribly ill... horrific nausea, then vomiting. So they gave me this instead but I'm afraid the same thing will happen... :(

Clindamycin is a common antibiotic and is used frequently. The main side effect yeast infection which happens with the use of any antibiotic. As long as you take it as prescribed you should be okay.

The most common side effect to any antibiotic is stomach upset. But even that is rare. The occurrence of a yeast infection (as noted above) is always a problem with females on antibiotics. However, unless you have had a prior allergic reaction to an antibiotic I would not hesitate to take a medication that was prescribed for me.
