Could be a number of reasons,,
Are you run down?
Changed your tooth paste?
Low in Iron?
Usually its because your iron levels are low, fill up on green leafy veg and try multi vitamins with added iron.
If the ulcer is still present after a few days, go straight to your dentist Please NOT your GP as dentists are specialists of the mouth and know how to diagnose!!!!!!

It sounds like you may have been eating more than normal acidic foods, such as orange juice, tomatoes and such. Check your diet, and eliminate the acidic items for now. It will clear up in a few days, but a medication from your druggist will help.

Oh my goodness gracious, what you describe sounds like a STD on your tongue.
Go to your local health department for a penicillin shot to the tongue.

Ow, that really hurts, doesn't it? Try dabbing a bit of Marmite on it - it really helps. Hope it clears up soon .
