I've read that Min Pins are for experieced dog owners only etc. What about them is so hard to handle? I have one and while she is very hyper, she is not that difficult at all. Anyone else have experience with Min Pins, please share?!

My only problem with mine is that she is terribly terribly greedy. If I am roasting meat in the oven, she will stand in front of the oven crying and whimpering for the meat.

The reason they say that is because they are hyper active dogs. You really need to exercise them in order for them to be healthy and balanced. They are very excited all the time and if you dont know how to handle them, they could become aggressive later in life. They are very dominant also. I dont have or ever had min pins but i have had mixes with min pins in them. Just make sure you know how to handle them and exercise them.
Hope this helps!

My sister in law had one and it was not a fun dog to be around.
She tried, but she and her hubby babied it and spoiled it and didn't socialize it. Not enough consistent training.

If you sat on the sectional couch it might jump on the back of the couch and run across the top of the back and even over your head. It scratched the side of my face open one time. I was just sitting there listening to someone talking and the dog jumped up beside me and up the side of my head. Funny now, but not when your face is bleeding.

It growled and bit at your pants and legs and snarled sometimes. Never quite sure why. You could be standing in the kitchen and suddenly it is attacking you.

It was a hyperactive, bossy, aggressive dog. I know not all min pins are like that, but this dog left a bad taste in my mouth for the whole breed. The only other one I met was a neighbor's dog I only saw on leash--where it would be barking and lunging at me.

It would be funny if it weren't so sad that the dog was so stressed he felt the need to bark and lunge at anyone within sight.

Maybe Min Pins got the rep because some (only SOME) of the folks drawn to the breed do so because they want a baby substitute? So they create a holy terror like my in-laws???

Hope that gives you some info. you can use.

I had a very particular Min Pin male. He replaced into very lively and could bounce up and follow you around the residing house on your each and every circulate. they are going to cuddle next to you on the properly of the day. Mine replaced into type of hyper and had to be taken out on a leash as I have considered others also that in the journey that they get free they are going to bolt. So in the journey that your toddlers can enable it out of the fence or open the door they could run off and in the journey that they could see a crack at a door etc they are going to make a run for it..perhaps some exceptions yet look few and far between. they opt for lower than a cover no remember how warmth or chilly interior the residing house. type of troublesome to coach.yet mine replaced into 13 years previous very last month when I had to positioned him down for wellbeing causes. they are going to mellow out with age yet not a lot. they're possesive yet unswerving. in case you could take care of that then large "Tanner" replaced into my perfect pal and a good spouse......RIP
