what sort of pound ? compared to what ? The pound as in £ has 100 x 1 pences in it, or ten ten pences in it, could be all sorts to make up a pound. There is also approx 70pence just under a pound to 1 euro. There is also another pound, as in weight pounds and ounces, 16 ounces in 1 pound. Its very complicated isnt it.

The pound is their monetary use. It's their money. Like one dollar. Not sure what else you are asking. if you are asking for conversion, that would be
1.00 GBP=1.97071 USD
United Kingdom Pounds =United States Dollars

So basically the USD is weak. If you buy anything in the UK, converting would pretty much be a doubling. Like buy a cookie... costs 1 pound, conversion is about 2 dollars.

Do you mean in dollars? A pound is about $1.98 - nearly $2. So something that costs 40 pounds is really about $80 USD.

Approximately two dollars is the same as one pound. It varies from day to day. If you go, use an atm card and just deduct twice as much from your checking account.
