I'd rent a cabin in Big Sur and snuggle down with my Honey in front of a fireplace. All alone in the middle of nowhere. No phones or bothers.

We just got married and went to St Augustine, Florida. A very romantic town! Fly into Jacksonville and it's 15 minutes south on A1A. Congrats and good luck!

Why limit to California?
We did Australia for 2 weeks for $5000. Call any travel agent.

Where to go?
Do you like beach or mountains?
I recommend a bed and breakfast (I never believed but wife sold me on it).
Beach? How about Catalina Island?
Mountains? How about Yosemite or Mt. Shasta?

Solvang. Wine tasting, horseback riding, great shopping and food. Near the coast too. Do the "Sideways" wine tour, visit the national park, rest in peace and luxury.

depends if you are in northern cali then try San Franscico they have fun spots and eateries, shops to check out. if in L.A. check out venice beach and drive north up the coast towards malibu beautiful sceanery. but if you are in San Diego then try Corenado beach or La Jolla nice for beaches and quite times with husband. and for night time fun drive ten minutes to the border to Mexico fun places to drink and dance the night away.
