birth certificate and social security card? WHat are the rules regarding proper identification and how can i maybe get around if this is not adequate? I have a son stranded in New York, because he does not have current license or id.

You can use an expired drivers license with his photo on it. He will have to expect more screening.... just tell him to be patient and put up with all of that. Couldn't hurt to take the other paper work. Tell him to pack smart too. Yes he can use the expired DL along with the BC and SS card. He will just have to go through extra screening.

it may depend on who is taking your ticket and how strict they are on their policies. by bf just went to florida from vt and all he had was an expired license. photo id is always good tho. good luck to your son.
