Yes. I have lived on less than that before and I needed to pay for public transportation 5 days a week. You can't keep it up for too long though because eventually you get screwed up somehow. You run into a problem with bills since they aren't always predictable and you end up paying them late once and awhile. I lived without any kind of phone or gas connection in my apartment for a long time and it made it easier.
If you don't smoke, have pets, go to bars or restaurants or buy much of anything other than food at a cheap grocery store you can totally do it and pay a few bills other than rent. It's even better if you can walk to work. It will drive you crazy after awhile though.
I made $800/month and less while my rent was $550 for awhile. When my rent was $300 or less, I was fine.

That would be really hard.
You would only have about $14 per day for all your meals and transportation. If you buy a monthly unlimited metrocard for $76, then you would have about $325 for the month.
If you didn't go out and eat/drink, and made all your meals at home, then you could probably do it. But I don't think it would be much fun. You would be shocked at how fast you can spend $100 here.

Maybe. If you work 5 days a week, buy a $24 Unlimited and shop at C-town for groceries. Or hell, get some food stamps.

Yes. Cardboard boxes are free and you can easily arm yourself with a large variety of defensive weapons (for saftey) and cheap booze (to handle the stress) for that price.
Good luck in your new life as a vagrant !

It will be like a monk living in sin city.
Nope, it's not possible.
You spend $100 for a metro card for a week only.

Not happily, but countless people have survived on far less. Do you mean 'living" or "surviving?" I think there is a difference.
