That is a question for the ages! You cannot truely believe in God because someone else says he's real. It is something that you have to believe because deep down inside you know it has to be true. It's called faith. If there is no God than you have nothing to lose by believeing, but if he is real, than you have everything to gain. Think about it.

This is a very profound question, that has baffled humans throughout our existence and the answer truly is a relative one, depending upon ones philosophical prefence.
I however do not believe god is real and that Jesus was a ordinary human bieing with a motivating philosophy and people took that, and objectified and perversifid it, like so many other injustices througout human history, and the man responsible for doing that was saul ( who became paul on the road to demascus) and he was a vicious piece of work.
The concept of god, is human beings response to our fear of the forces of nature, which baffles most of us to this day. God is our way of controling nature by personifying it in our own image and then controlling it (i.e the unexplainable phenomenon in the natural world) by claiming to know gods will through a series of prescibed behaviors, norms or practices. The eternal fear of the unkown is the driving mechanism that allows us to pursue this path in life, for those of us that are religous or spiritual.
In truth, most people cannot fathom a world, in which nothing happens after we die, except that our atoms become one with the universe. Fear of our own mortality is the other reason for why we believe god exist.
All god is , is a figment of the human imagination to cope with these two things, unexplained phenomenon and our own mortality. The subject as I have stated is much more profund that can be explained in a few paragraphs of an online forum, but it takes considerable and pround reflection to come to ones own conclusion on the subject.

".....to die, to sleep, to sleep perchance to dream, eye! there's the rub, for in that sleep of death, what dreams may come..."
From Hamlet's first sililoquay; to be or not to be.

That's a horribly intense debate. The easiest answer is this:

By our current scientific methods of measuring, testing, and proving, He is not real.

By definition of the Bible, yes he is I'd quote bible stuff but you said no to that.

By observation of our world, all I can say is I don't know enough to know how complex all this LIFE stuff is but it sure seems complex. But who's to say God didn't simply plant the seed to start this life in it's processes. I would say he has a vast understanding of physics and other elemental necessities specific to our solar system and universe to know what seeds and foundations needed to come together for those laws to do the rest.

By personal opinion:
He's real to me.

Although nobody knows for sure, I believe God is real. You feel it in your heart when he's around (called the holy spirit), and if you've ever witnessed something amazing, you should know. But you can never know. If you're especially cynical, the answer could very well be no, or if you believe in something else, the answer can be no. It's all about you and how you feel about God. If you're wondering if he's a being or not, the bible said "He created them in His own image", so I would guess that He is just like us. Oh, and God is capitalized, but many gods are not. Hope that helps.

>> know jesus was real because weve proved it

Actually, truth be told, historians actually aren't 100% if he existed or not. Saul of Tarsus (the apostle Paul) was the first to write about Jesus, and he never spoke about any part of Jesus' actual life, and said that his crucifixion and resurrection happened "in heaven", not here on Earth. Then Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John came along.

>> but we havent proved that god is real..........and no the bible says stuff

You can't prove it. Just like you can't prove pink unicorns, FSMs, or celestial teapots. All of which are absurd to believe in - including the god of Abraham.

Believe what you want to believe. Although Christians are without a doubt the most judgemental and intolerant people on Earth it is okay to believe or not believe in God. If you are a logical person who believes what an old French philosopher named Descartes believed that , "everything should be doubted until proven with reason", than no there is no God. However if you have strong morals and just flat out "feel better" about believing in a God, than yes, there is a God.

God is real but there is only one true God and his name is Jehovah. There are many Gods people worship like Mary she didn't give us life Jehovah did, he is the creator of this entire world. If u don't know if Jehovah is real u need to read ur bbible or go to a kingdom hall where there they teach u the truth

Yes. There are so many mysteries that scientists cannot explain using science alone, such as where DNA comes from. It is information. Information cannot create itself.
They say life formed out of chemicals. Okay. Where did the chemicals come from? You can keep asking "but where did THAT come from?" Eventually you'll have stuff being created out of nothing. There has to be something that has always been here. I call Him God Almighty.

I dont understand the second part, "no the bible says stuff"

I'm just curious if Jesus is real to you, then do you think of him as just another man?

It actually hasn't been proven that Jesus was real. It's highly probable that there was a historical figure, most likely named Jesus, who did and said some of the things that are attributed to him in the Bible, but i wouldn't go to the extreme of saying it's been proven that Jesus existed... If you define Jesus as someone who did everything attributed to him in the Bible then i would have to say that that figure has a very very very low probability of having ever existed.

With that out of the way all i must say about god is that we have even less evidence for his existence, and an even more fluid idea of what he is supposed to be than we do of Jesus. It's far less likely that god exists than it is that Jesus existed in any form.
