My wife has asked for smooth, sharp knives for X-mas.?

Where can I find these? I have never heard of such a thing.

I have found that Cutco have the best knives. They are expensive, but I have not had to sharpen them in the 5 years I have owned them.

My daughter sold Cutco during the summer in college. They are very expensive, but I love to cook, and my husband knows that. We really didn't have the money at the time, but he said, that when he buys a tool, he wants a good tool that will last and hold up when he's working - something of quality. He said I should have that in the kitchen, because it's what I like to do and do it all the time. We bought a set and I've never regretted it! They're wonderful!

huh. I don't think she really cares so much about the knives, what she wants is for you to go to alot of trouble finding it. If you bought her crap knives and told her you flew all the way to china just to get them for her, she would be so very happy. Or skip the knives and get her something sentimental. Something about an event she never thought you would have ever remembered. Like "Hey, hon, i bought you this eggplant because it reminded me of when we first met, we were both eating eggplant soup." Except do not do that, that was an example.

Ask her if she means the knives aren't serrated. If that's what she means, go to Macy's and look at the West German brands. You can often get a set including a sharpening rod and wood holder for a fairly reasonable price.

Find a dealer that carries Chicago Cutlery. Great stuff, lasts forever if cared for.
