One of the greatest commandments that Jesus gave was to love one another... but I sometimes don't see much of that coming from some of you guys.

To those of you that have been offended, please accept my sincere apologies for these guys who speak before they put their brains into gear!! ;-)

Those who profess to be CHRISTIANS but only make noise and go through the motions are called more properly Jack Christians, false Christians. They far outnumber the ones who follow the teachings of Christ. Most follow the teachings of religion, and by and large religion is a godless business.

Not many Christians get that they are supposed to be doing as Jesus did. They don't understand that if they aren't being persecuted then they aren't following Jesus very well, and they want to flip the persecution around on anyone that they suspect of challenging the ways that they have accepted as right.

Well thank you for the apology. Some of the atheists aren't exactly nice to theists on here. As an atheist, it makes me shudder. I don't believe in putting someone down for their belief or lack of belief. All we can do is forgive and forget. Have a great day, dear!

I totally agree (watch for the thumbs down). Although it does say in the Bible that homosexuality is a sin, I think that is in the Old Testament. I don't recall Jesus saying anything about it. But I do remember "Judge not others lest ye shall be judged" and "let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

Jesus also said to look at the log in your own eye before you look at the speck in your brothers. In other words you should judge yourself first, are you not doing just what you say Christians do. Are you not judging all Christians.

Many Christians think that these specific sins are SO bad. These people forget that all sin is equal and that we are all sinner. I am friends with sinners and love them very much, and I never forget that I was a sinner at one time and am still a sinner now. The only difference is God has judged Christ in my place (Substitutionary Atonement).

I think everyone can be nasty/mean towards anyone at times. We are all people....some of us are forgiven and some not, but all people can be nasty.
You are right, we ought to love one another as Jesus commanded us to.

Christians should share their beliefs in love. We do speak out against sin. We are commanded to do so. But to belittle any group of thought and to not treat other non-believers with anything less than total respect is not God's will.

I occassionaly have a little fun myself but not at the expense of someones dignity and feelings.

and if I have I welcome rebuke..

With christians, for the most part (not all), it is "My way or you go straight to hell".

Hmmmm... what about the latest big time preacher who quit because he is gay?
He said he had been fighting with it since he was FIVE years old and would go to bed crying, praying for god to take it away...

That proves 2 things...
1. You are born gay and have no choice.
2. Prayer is a waste of time.

Yes indeed they are a shame. I usually go around people like that but have learned to speak my mind against injustice and false idiotic assumptions and ignorance. I have just as much to say as they have.
