Such rules and dogma are man made. They were created with good intentions, but they mislead you about what God really is- All Loving! He does not get angry, just sad when you turn from him. Live a good life, love God, love your neighbors and you are doing just fine. God is holy, not Sunday :)

Hi, concerning working on Sunday? First, Sunday is not the Sabbath Day, which is was/is a day of rest, that day is Saturday, the 7th day of the week. Sunday is the first day of the week and is the day of beginnings. Still working on the Sabbath was a sin under the Old Covenant or Testament, where the law was dealt with by the letter. With the resurrection of Christ from the grave we are under the New Covenant or Testament, where we dealt with the spirit of the law. It must be understood that we serve, those of us who do serve Him, an unchanging God, who is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, but He is also a God who understands.
With that, some people have jobs or careers which cause them to work on Saturday, Sunday or maybe both. There was a time that I worked for the Sheriff Dept. I was on 1st shift and was only able to attend church on Sunday morning every 2 1/2 months, we had rotating days off, but still I was able to attend some evening services. Also it must be understood that God knows our hearts and by that He knows who is striving to His child and who is not. I hope that I helped you.

I know that some religions believe Sunday to be the Sabbath, but other religions believe Saturday to be the Sabbath. I also think that God meant something different when he made the commandment to Keep Holy the Lords Day. I think he meant for us to remember that we should praise him and make time for him. Do you think he wouldn't want you to help someone in need on Sunday? Remember the story of the good Samaritan? I believe that some religions took this commandment out of context.
Again, these are my belief's and I think he would forgive us if we have to work on Sunday to provide for our families. I also believe he would forgive anyone for doing a spot of homework on Sunday or Saturday. As long as we make time to talk to him - which (for those who believe in God) should be daily.

Paul said all days are dedicated to God. and whether eating or drinking we do all things for God's glory.
Hebrews chapter 4 shows that the Christian sabbath is not sunday but being freed of doing works of law for salvation.

If faith is a good method to know the existence of God, why is the same method not used in a court of law to determine who murdered someone? Before you send someone to die, isn’t it a good idea to make sure it’s the right person? Should you pick anybody off the street and ask them to prove they did not commit the murder, and if they don’t know what you are talking about, they are obviously guilty? Should the burden of proving you did not do the murder rest on you or on he who claims it was you and accuses you? If I start claiming that I feel God within myself, shouldn’t I show you some evidence? Or since you don’t know what I am talking about, you are obviously deaf, and have no eyes to see, no introspective ability, so you must be obviously illogical, and all I have to tell you is “Pray and have faith!.”
In the Middle Ages someone who couldn’t prove that the Devil DID NOT talk to him, was guilty anyway and had to be tortured and killed. We could still do that experiment and just pick anyone off the street and tell him or her that WE KNOW that Satan has possessed him/her. We KNOW, not by proof of evidence, but because the Blue Angel spoke to us. How about that method in a court of law? It would cost expensive lawyers, and it would save the taxpayers money.
Since when it comes to practical application faith is the same in every religion, why don’t all faithful join together in Iran and form the new country of the AlmightyAllahJehovaShivaVishnu Incorporated?

The sabbath is on Saturday. We're not under the law any more. One reason the law is in place to show us we are sinners; thus, leading us to Christ. Christ fulfilled the law for us so we didn't have to be legalistic (worry about the law). Everyday is the sabbath for a Christian; therefore, we should never work. The work the Christian should never do is work for their salvation. That's how the commandment should be read. Read the commandment that way and it will make perfect sense.

it was different when the bible was put together and the laws were very different. God understands that people have to make a living but does not like it when they start putting stuff above him. This was probably why the no work on sunday rule was made. If you believe in God, honostly believe, but you have to work on sunday thats ok.

Some of us have jobs that require us to work and that can not be avoided. I don't think God has a problem with that. Its all what is in your heart all the time, not just Sunday.

Let me give you the short answer, for sake of time. I doubt if your working a Sunday night shift will in any way affect your salvation.

I think He means that He doesn't want us to choose making money, or going fishing, or hunting over Him. I think on Sunday He wants us to rest and reflect on Him. There's nothing wrong with doing homework, or even going to a job if you have to. God just wants to be first at least once a week.
