No your friend may have a problem. Stop eating all together and you will not have to worry about your weight, you will be dead. And even if you did it for a time frame once you resume eating you will gain all the weight plus back , and quickly. The only way to lose weight is by burning more calories than what you are consuming.

Your roomate is a jackass. How can a calorie burning aerobic exercise make you fat. If you stop eating all together you can do a ton of damage to your body. The only problem with running is the shin splints that can occur. A balanced diet accompanied with aerobic exercise is the way to go to lose weight.

You're joking, right? If you stop eating altogether, that's one true way to DIE!!! Men should NEVER eat less than 1,800 calories a day (1,400 calories a day for women).
Running is a great way to lose fat, but you don't want to run for more than 40 minutes at a time if you're trying to burn fat -- if you do, you'll end up burning muscle instead.

Don't listen to that friend. Running will only make you fat if you are running to Krispy Kreme. Otherwise, running increases the amount of calories you burn. As long as the burning of calories exceeds the calories you take in you will lose weight.

NO. Your roommate needs help. Its NEVER healthy to stop eating all together.... Eating fewer calories will DEF help you lose wieght. Stay under 1500 calories including drinks to help you lose weight... and NO, running is cardio and helps you lose weight, even faster than dieting.

If you stop eating your metabolism will actually slow down. So if and when you do eat again you will actually gain weight. Running will build muscle but you will ultimately gain muscle mass and loose fat which is healthy and it will make you look more lean.

no! not eating, is called ANOREXIA which can KILL! running can help you lose weight, but it will also add muscle, so you will probably gain a little too. the best thing is to exercise and eat healthy (fresh fruit and vegetables, and less processed sugars, red meat and fried stuff).
