My cat has not moved much for 3 whole days. i am not sure if it has moved during the night... I think it is dehydrated, because i made it move and it went to go drink then went to the litter box, went to go drink, and pooped on the carpet.
I gave it a little bowl of water and it drank some of it. is there any way to help give it more water without having to force it into the cat? has anyone else dealt with this problem?
Also, i do not want to take her to the vet if possible.

from the water i gave her earlier, she is moving around more and seems more normal. she will still probably go to the vet, just to check.

It sounds to me like it's a digestive problem. I know you don't want to take it to the vet, but if it hasn't moved in 3 days, I REALLY suggest taking the iniative to have it checked out.

I can understand not wanting to take your cat to the vet, which can be expensive. However, even if part of the problem is dehydration (which, by the way, can kill), it's only a symptom of a greater problem. The cat might've eaten something that is bad for it, or is blocking part of it's digestive tract. It may have a disease or other illness. There's simply no way to know.
The bottom line is that, given your cat's symptoms, if you DON'T take it to the vet, it's likely to die. As a responsible pet owner, you can't let that happen -- you should care enough about your loved cat to find some way to get it to a vet. If you really *can't* do so, then take the poor cat to an animal shelter. They'll save it's life if they can, even if you can't pay. And isn't that the most important thing?

Your cat is behaving in an unusual way. Dehydration may be part of it and she still needs to have a vet find out what is wrong. I assume she has not eaten much in those three days. A cat can live without water longer than she can go without food. The consequences of her not eating can be very serious.

You need to take your cat to a vet. That sounds like it could be a serious problem. Don't ever deny your animals medical care. Many vets will take payment plans (mine did). If its something minor, it will not be expensive and can prevent a major problem down the road.

I nearly lost my precious cat cuddles because she had a kidney infection less than a month ago. Yes, it cost a lot of money, but if I didn't take her to the vet she would have surley died. She needs IV fluids and IV antibiotics. Take her to an emrgency place NOW...she can't wait until the morning.

You cannot force a cat to drink. Do a pinch test. Pick up it's skin on it's back. If it springs right back into place your kitty is not dehydrated. If it moves real slow than she is and needs to be taken to a vet IMMEDIATELY for intravenous fluids!!

this sounds like your kitty could be sick, I know you dont want to, but you need to take the cat to the vet....if you want to check for dehidration pinch the cats skin a little bit and if the skin slowly moves back your cat is dehidrated, if the skin bounces back quickly then she isnt....but really take your cat to the vet....Also a general rule of thumb for pets is~
if they cant get to the bathroom or eat and drink on their own they need to go to the vet.

Our beloved four-legged friends cannot tell us when they are sick and need to go to the doctor so we have to be able to tell when they are sick. There are a few sure-fire signs that your cat is ill:
It is lethargic
It is not eating
It is not drinking
It suddenly refuses to use its litterbox
It is urinating excessively
It is drinking excessively
Given your description YOUR CAT IS SICK! NO QUESTION ABOUT IT. A four year old cat makes the best patient because they can usually recover thanks to their youth and early detection. Don't delay a moment longer. You cat needs medical attention and the longer you wait the more difficult and costly a recovery. Please take your furry family member to the veterinarian A.S.A.P. Don't let it suffer.
Good luck.
