For people that have names like johnson, smith, robertson, etc...
And you were originally from say africa, have you ever wondered what your last name used to be and want to change it back to that?

or for someone with a hard to pronounce name or hard to spell name, have you ever thought of changing your name to something more easy to spell and pronounce?

I just changed my name after getting married. I went from a relatively uncommon last name to a very common one. It was strange at first to have such a boring last name, but I'd rather share my husband's name than not, so that's that!

No way! My last name is the name of one of my favorite bands (the) Ramones. It's too bad that i'm going to have to change it when I get married someday to some boring name like johnson, smith, or robinson

I would if I had a ridiculous name or one that was impossible to spell. I changed back to my maiden name when I got divorced because I didn't like being called Mrs. Bushell.

i have because my last name is Rosenstein, and people hear it and immediately think "jewish" so it's a problem with people who have a problem with jews. it's also inconvenient because as soon as they hear "rosen" they forget to listen to the rest, so i get called rosenberg a lot, even by people who should know my last name, like my school counselor.

other than that, though, i guess it's different for guys. i can just wait until i get married, after all, and then it probably won't be a problem.

when i was younger, i wanted to change my last name (Jones)because it is probably the most common "American" last name next to "smith" but not anymore.
When i get married to my boyfriend (someday), I'll have the most common Korean last name (Kim)

nope, not even when I got married.

I have a very common (in English-speaking places) last name; my husband's was always considered strange in Canada, and still isn't common in Switzerland (where he's from and where we now live). (That has nothing to do with why I didn't consider changing it.)
