If the pain is in your left arm, get to the emergency room or urgent care RIGHT AWAY -- that could be the signal of a heart attack. If not, take a break from the computer and try stretching your arm a bit. You can take ibuprofen for it if you need to, but if the pain persists for more than 24 hours, make an appointment to see your doctor.

I'm going to agree with Carpel Tunnel but still suggest you see a doctor. If you agree with the Carpel Tunnel diagnosis take your other hand and stretch your fingers back, thumb too but you will do a second stretch to include this. You will immediately feel a relief. If not you should probably start putting your shoes on & head out the door to the hospital.

I used to get that feeling right after I was in a car accident and I had a maladjusted spine. It was pinching a nerve in my arm.

Growing pains? If you are under 18, its very possible that you are still growing. My step daughter is 7 and she gets them in her legs.
