David is correct. Strawberries do not ripen after picking. Next time, make sure you buy ripe strawberries.

Once they are picked that is it for ripening, there not like bananas that ripen after picking, to make them softer or juicy for pureed products, cut them and add either sugar or honey to release the juices.
Unfortunatly once they are partially ripened and picked they do not ripen any more most time they will soften and just rot, more fruits do some type of post-tree ripening, apples don;t strawberries don't, banana and mangos do, go figure??

put them outside for a few days but not too long or they'll get spoiled!
