It's a mother-daughter thing definitely. It would be weird to tell a dad. My dad and I are like best friends and I could tell him everything, from school to relationships, but when I got my P. I just told my mom and asked her for advice. It's just how it's done. So don't you worry! I'm sure your daughter will still trust you and confide in you. It's a wonderful thing to have a great relationship with a dad because so many of my friends almost never even say more than two words to their dads about anything. Be proud that you are a great parent! :-)

This is very much a mother-daughter thing. it has nothing to do with the trust you two share. when i had my first "P" I didnt even want to tell my mother. I am a very "personal" person and some people are more outward about these issues and others are more private. Dont let it bug you, and dont tease her about it :) even though it may be the "dad" thing to do! as she grows up more, you will see changes, she wont be "confideing" in you as much on certain things, mainly boys, drama, and herself/ body. dont take it personally, this really is "just a girl thing"

It's a mother daughter thing dude. Allways has been. Allways will be. It's kinda like the father - son talk that never happens. Mother's have more information than dads do and understand more about what they have in common.
It's not that she does not trust you or anything like that, but some things are just better left to the ladies to talk about.
As they say in the Navy. Stand by for heavy seas my friend.

Most girls do not want to discuss their female issues with their fathers, or any other man. It's a normal thing. I think for the most part it's always been considered a mother daughter thing.

It is normal. It is a mother and daughter thing. There are many daughters that talk to their mothers about these things and not talk to their fathers. I remember when I was 11 when I first had my period and only told my mother and not my father about it until he found out next year when my mother told him.

I would think it is not a trust issue at all. However, a female would be more comfortable talking to another female regarding female issues rather than her father. Even if you are the most loving and compassionate Father on the face of the earth. This will probably change some what as she grows and increases in level of maturity. Good luck and God bless****

I don't think it's a trust issue,,it's a mother-daughter thing.Girls are more able to talk to moms about those things, same as boys are more able to talk to dads about things going on with their bodies.

Do you call a plumber when you need an electrician... of course it's a mother-girl-woman thing... Why would she confide in you? Girls are sorta shy about that kinda thing and she went to someone who knows what it's all about... give your daughter a break and get rid of the jealousy factor....

It's a mother-daughter thing! Just let her know she can come to you about anything and let her know you are there for her too. That subject is not easy for a young girl to talk about with her dad, so, don't be so hard on yourself.
