Things won't get easier with time, it's an everyday battle. But, as time goes on, you will develop better coping skills. Have you tried writing a journal and express your thoughts there? Some say it's very productive therapy. You could write down all the things that have happened to you because of your habits. If you are having a bad day, write it down, just like you would if you were having a good day. List all the positive things about yourself. And when you feel really down, read that list.
One thing to try is to make friends who aren't using drugs. Go to your local mental health center and find out about meetings they hold or where you can go to find them. Go to a cognitive therapist,(where you "talk" about your issues) you may find out that there are things that have happened that made you turn to drugs and have an eating disorder. Usually, there are those things that are buried inside you and a therapist can help you find them, and deal with them.
Find things such as-hobbies, crafts, anything to keep you busy and your mind occupied. Also, read articles and books about proper nutrition. If you like sports, find somewhere you can go and participate in. (Like your Parks & Recreation department.)
Do NOT associate in any way with your former friends who use drugs.
I know these ideas are common knowledge for you, but sometimes, people think they can still have the same friends or groups of people they use to hang around with and not do drugs or eat right, but people really shouldn't and can't do it.
You may be trying to do too much at once-causing stress which can be a trigger, if you have too, cut down on your classes.
Congrat on the year!!! You have a come a long way and don't be afraid to praise yourself for that!!!!

Congrats on being clean! Often when someone recovers from an addiction they will still have cravings for quite awhile. They usually gradually disappear over time so hang in there. I hope you're getting counseling and/or going to support groups. That can help alot. It's possible you may be depressed. Alot of times people use drugs or alcohol to self-medicated an underlying depression. They get clean but the depression is still there. An antidepressant might help, some may even help reduce the cravings as well. Don't be afraid to talk to a doctor or mental health professional about your problems. Good luck and stay sober!

If you are going to meetings (like you should) then you have heard this from SO many people.....just because you stop using, doesn't mean things get better. You have to do a lot of work for that to happen. Doesn't sound to me like you are going to meetings--you wouldn't still feel that way after 18 months.
NA can help you live without the drugs. And the same principals of the NA program will also help you with your eating disorder. It's all the same--people use, not eat, drink, have sex, gamble--whatever....all these addictions because they can't handle their feelings. So they use these other behaviors to make the pain go away. As you know, it doesn't work. So get to a meeting!

I ended up having to move far away and I dont know anyone anymore that does it so that makes it a lot easier. Remember one day at a time. It will get easier and then the 1st time you turn it down will be the best day of you life!!!
Good luck and email me if you have any questions or need help!!

good for u for getting urself clean, people dont realize how difficult it is, they only criticize what u have done. Try reading a book on just that (other people going through the same problems or been through the same problem) maybe that will give you some ideas. Or try stress relievers like aromatherapy oils in the tub or scented oils, candles to burn, they help u relax. Best of luck to u

sure. you want to renounce chilly turkey. only get rid of any porn that you've, consisting of magazines, and do not placed your self in a situation (ex: dont stray to the fellow sections of bookstores on the mall) the position you'd be tempted. busy your self doing some thing else, like fairly searching for a female friend.
