Any thoughts on "Guilt" found in the bible? Like some scriptures or people in the bible who had to deal with this? I'm trying to write something. Right now I can think of how Judas felt guilty and so he killed himself. Anything else?

Guilt? This actually kinda refers to the difference between the old testament and the new testament. The old testament was about a bunch of laws. But the problem with laws (even today) is laws dont cover the gray areas that are questionable as to wether somethings wrong or not.
This is why we have a new testament; God said He would write His laws in our heart(concious); so we know immidiatly if something is wrong or not. The concious covers those gray areas. Check either the end of the old testament or the begging of the new testament; you should find something.

We are all guilty of failing to keep God's commandments... some deal with this guilt better than others... Those of The True Christian Faith know that we are weak and will fail but we know that God is there for us none the less... Judas did not know this... so he felt total loss because of the greatness of his failure... When there is no understanding, of God's True Love, guilt can overwhelm and lead to all mannor of destructive and self-destructive behavior...

David felt guilty about his behavior with Bathsheba and the subsequent murder of her husband. Check out 2 Samuel 12.
Peter felt guilty about denying Christ.
Josiah felt very guilty about the sin of Israel when the book of the Law was discovered during his reign. 2 Kings 22.

In the Hebrew 'guilt' literally means to be put under death. At the fall of man all mankind became guilty and therefore put under the sentence of death.
That's why Jesus came and paid the debt that was owed by mankind because of sin, so we can be free. If you are feeling guilty it's because we are all under sin. But thank you Jesus, who has come that we might be free and free indeed, and that we might have life and that it might be abundant life!
Quilt is or was not God's idea it was the enemy of mankind to put us under death. For the devil or satan only comes to still kill and destroy and is the Father of all lies.
Hope this helps you and others that read this.

I hope these few (sorry, just off the top of my head) will help spurn the thought process on your writing:
1. Cain's guilt over killing his brother Abel
2. Adam and Eve's shame over their nakedness
3. Peter's guilt after denying Christ 3 times as Jesus predicted (pre-crucifiction)
Wow, I am having a block but if I think of more, I will come back and modify.

It's called repentance. Try reading about how King David dealt with his guilt in Psalm 51.

I'm guilty every time I think about sheep...Oh sheep...I love you sheep...
I'm kidding.
I believe much of the "guilt" listed in the Bible is only meant to control the stupidity of the masses. Guilt is a good way to get people to conform.
I can't quote scriptures...It's like complex math equations...filling my head up with things I can just read or look up makes the really important things fall out...like; where I put my underwear and when to scoop out the kitty litter.

Peter was guilty for denying Christ three times. Esau was guilty for selling his birthright for a bowl of soup. Adam and Eve were guilty for eating the fruit of the tree that they weren't supposed to eat from....there's a bunch of others though

I just did some studying on guilt not too long ago. Here's the website I used for my information. There are many verses listed on this site, and some good information.

Good luck!
