It seems to me that they just wanted to put three letters on each number (excluding 1 and 0 of course). So, since Z and Q aren't used much in the English language compared to other languages those were the two they took off. On cell phoes (because of text messaging) these are placed usually on the 7 key for Q and the 9 key for Z. Also, my landline phone has both Q and Z.

Before computers the letters were used for exchanges, like "Butterfield". There just weren't many words with Z or Q, so older phones left them off. They are on newer phones because computer entry often uses them.

Ummm, They are on mine. The "Q" is on the 7, and the "Z" is on the 9.

I'm at work and there is no Q or Z on the phone I use here. That is weird because if I'm not mistaken they are on my phone at home. Good question!!

ok, i'm gonna put it plain and simple... ready, ok, "Q" is on the "7" ans "Z" is on the "9" ok put up the phone and look, if those letters aren't up there call the makers of the phone and see why ur phone is different... and ur welcome.
