I've been dating this guy for awhile now. He told me upfront that he doesn't let girls meet his family and friends until he knows it's going somewhere, and I was okay with this in the beginning.
Adventually this began to bother me and made me question if I was the only girl in his life. I had asked him a few times and he said that I was the only girl, but I was still unsettled. So of course I did the stupidest thing ever and checked his cell phone.
He knows I did this and is very upset with me. He almost walked away for good and I don't blame him.
Is this a forgivable crime?

respect his limits because you agreed to toe the line at the beginning (its another subject altogether that his limits are wierd and dont inspire security in a woman)
you obviously are having difficulty with this condition and it will bug you till you do something about it, so have a sit down and mature chat wherein you can honestly say that you would prefer to alter the conditions a little bit, and why.
ur feelings are valid, just be mature about it and he may respect that. if you sneak about like a child, he will treat u like one.

I would ask him why he doesn't think it's going anywhere considering you haven't met his parents. Although, you should trust him more and don't take things to mean that he has other girls. Yes, it is a totally forgivable crime.

everyone check out their mates cell phones. No big deal. If he is that upset with it then he must have something to hide. I would gladly turn my cell over to my husband if he were suspicious.

Well...one...its an invasion of privacy that you had no business doing. Second...if you want to be exclusive to this guy then don't expect it because it doesn't seem like he's willing to play ball. Find another fella to set your sights on. like...um....how do you feel about bald old guys who are in decent shape?

it sux i have done the same thing and didnt like the results. my man did forgive me but i didnt know exactly what was going on b4 i jumped all over him, he should understand the circumstances but for ya'lls sake stay away fromthe phone!!

I think so. I probably wouldn't have been so upset about it . . . I wouldn't like it at all (I would be insulted) but I don't think I would leave you over it. Good luck!
