There are a couple of posible reasons - the most likely and not uncommon reason is due to a pinched nerve in the arm. Sometimes if you pinch a nerve you can go numb for hours or even a couple of days until the pinched nerve relaxes. If the numbness extends further up her arm or continues more than 1 day she should see a doctor.

I had problems like that a while ago. It was because I was sitting wrong at the computer and sleeping with my arms bent. There is a nerve under your elbo that gets pinched that causes that. Just try real hard to keep it straight (I had to make a cast). and dont lean on it at all while at the computer.

If she is having true numbness as in she can't feel a pin prick in those areas she needs to see a doc. True numbness would mean that if you or she pricked that arm in the area that is numb she would not be able to feel the pin. If it is just tingly I would just watch it for now but true numbness should be checked out.

numbness is usually a sign of a pinched nerve. If it doesnt go away in 24 hrs, see a doctor.

Sounds a little like carpal tunnel.

pinched nerves maybe. Carpel tunnel. Maybe even a blood clot. She needs to have that checked out by a DR.

Does she type or do some other repetitious movement all day? It could be carpal tunnel syndrome.

Merry Christmas!

It could be any number of things. It is probably a circulatory problem. Only a doctor can be sure. It is dangerous for someone to self diagnosis.
