I believe so. Don't let the rules on earth conflict with what's really going on with religion.

Sins are all equal in the sense that they all receive the same punishment: death. They are not equal, however, in severity. There are many verses in the Bible that indicate that God hates certain sins more than others.
But yes, all of the sins you mentioned are also wrong. The thing is, most people seem to have somewhat of a sense that those things are wrong. On the other hand, homosexuality and abortion are quickly becoming a social norm. For this reason people see more of a need to speak out against homosexuality and abortion.

You are absolutely RIGHT. The only sin that is not forgivable is Blasphemy of the Holy Ghost.
Read Romans 1:22-32 In the last couple verses...Disobedience to parents is listed along with Homosexuality as a sin...not only to those who commit these sins but also those who have pleasure in those that do commit them.
SIN IS SIN.

Politics. Abortion and Homosexuality are the current " Hot Topics " When's the last time you saw " Too much lying in today's World! Religious group rally against falsehood! "? Of course not. They are as guilty of it as anyone else.
Now, abortion is a clear-cut case of legalized murder, that's something you can get behind wish a sense of zeal and chivalry.
Homosexuality has always a stigma about it. Although I still haven't found which commandment forbids it, but I'm sure God won't mind if we over-look that part ( tee-hee, shh )
In short, politics. If you can't make your self look good, make sure they aren't looking at you. Best wishes.

No, all sins are not equal in the eyes of God. There are mortal sins and venial sins or forgiveable sins.
The reason, in my opinion, that the "other" sins you mentioned are not pointed out is this would cause people to point out their own sins instead of others. Maybe, if you are busy looking at others then you won't see theirs.
What people forget is that God is omnipresent, this means that God is everywhere. Let alone the fact that if you are "born again" there is a deposit of God in you from the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. This means that people are decieving themselves and trying to hide from God and only hiding the truth from themselves.

Not all sins are equal. All sin is grounds for the death penalty, but that is another issue.
Sin cannot be practiced, it needs to be repented of.(turned away from)
Therefore, homosexuality cannot be practiced, either. All the other sins that you mention are wrong, also, and need to be repented of.
Homosexuality has a double stigma attached, since it not only goes against God's law, but social custom as well.

Yes, all sin is equal in God's eyes. Homosexuality gets a lot of attention on this forum, because people post questions specifically about it, like, "Why does God hate Homosexuals"?
Which is, of course untrue, God loves ALL, but doesn't approve of what we do at all times; much the same as we still love our children when they lie, for example, but we don't like what they've DONE.

All sins are equal. They are equal with this basis in that they all require the same punishment which is eternal destruction. But God thru Jesus paid for sin through the death, burial and Resurrection for all of us. Judgment is the issue that causes finger pointing. It is okay to Judge but is not okay to point at their sin as being more wrong than your own personal sins. The problem with Hell and eternal punishment is that no one has to go there unless they choose not to accept Jesus's gift as payment.

The Bible does not say that all sins are equal. It says that all have sinned. If our relationship with God is broken, it's because of sin. People protest abortion because it has been made legal. Christians are simply tired of seeing immorality being legislated.

Give me a break, two minutes of reading the bible makes it clear that all sin are NOT equal in God's eyes. The simple fact that there are different types of sin, Venial sin and Mortal sin for example, tells us they are not the same.
Try research before asking.

The law says that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Every sin is breaking the law..so the law shows us our sinfulness, no matter what sin we commit. That's what the law is for, because if we know we are sinners then we become aware of our need for the savior of man, the Lamb of God. However, those who wish to continue in their sin while claiming that they are Christian point to the particular sins of others while they are in sin themselves which is why certain sins are pointed but not others. Romans 2 opens up talking about those who judge unrighteously but goes on to say that it is the goodness and forbearance and longsuffering of God which leads us to repentance ... this is the way to salvation.
