Well its Federal Grant money, money you do not have to pay back, but someone told me that if you fail a class or get a "D" then you lose your financial aid all together and the money they gave you for books and classes you have to pay back.

Varies on the type of financial aid you are receiving. If it's a scholarship, you could easily lose that. If it's a grant from the government, you might have to. If it's a loan from someone or some place, you're going to have to pay it all back anyway. They don't care what type of grades you get.

It depends on where your aid is coming from. Federal aid (like Stafford loans) don't care about your grades. If you borrow money from them, you must pay it back - period. You should have the promissary note that you signed when you got the loan. It should outline exactly what their rules are for grade requirements. If you can't find the paper work, call your loan provider.

it depends on the specific scholarship, though I would say none would be so strict to cut you off after receiving one D or F. If you are talking about gov't aid, like pell grants, I know that they don't do because of one grade. For other sources of aid you normally have to maintain satisfactory progress, which is a *** gpa of 2.0-3.0, but like I said, it depends, so if you are worried about losing eligibility, I am sure you can look up the exact req online, because we don't know exactly what aid you have.

*edit* haha, *** is supposed to be the abbrev. for cumulative

Yes, but is this a "D" after averaging all your classes. A "D" in one class but lets say for example an "A" or "B" in other classes will not affect your overall grade which must be a "C".
