so...if you really think about it, we exist inside the universe, and the universe exists inside space. where did the space really come from? i mean you can give all the stuff about the big bang and god and all that, but where did the realm that the space exists in come from. sure space is nothingness, but the space is still there. it exists. where is there even this bubble of nothing ness and what would be here if it wasn't here?

The inflaton is exactly what you're talking about and it is required to be infinite because non-existence would be perfectly deterministic and thus a violation of Heisenburg's Indeterminancy Principle. There is no space extrinsic to the inflaton though the inflaton in full is extrinsic to the visible universe (that is, the visible universe is part of the inflaton though not causally related -- nothing from the inflaton can affect the visible universe and the visible universe came from a truly random quantum ripple).

the only way to understand god is to be god when you are god you understand the power of time and space and that it exists now .there is no past becasue time dosnt exist . only conciousness and concepts exist . when these two things starting bonding atoms and molecules and and everyhting else came about. but there was no when there definelty is no where and as for why i would say becasue life is about growth.and allthough a particular universe may have a life span the life behind it is ageless and universes have probably come and gone forever . and why jsut because. lol

Nothing is something.

Boy and atheists call God a fairy tale.

Nothing is something defies logic. Of course, not to Einstein or Hawking or someone on drugs.

There's an old comic routine about selling nothing. It takes a good salesman to do that!

Religion and science share one thing in common, neither will make a definitive statement on where God or the Mass of the Universe came from. They simply say IT WAS ALWAYS THERE.

Science and Religion BOTH agree in "something eternal."

The universe doesn't exist inside space, space is defined in the context of the universe, without the universe there is no space.

I try not to think this way because my head just might explode. Even vast empty space is something, even if nothing is in it. There is no such thing as nothing as long as someone can perceive that there is somewhere (an actual place) where nothing exists. What would be there if it wasn't there? Nothing, which is something. I think I need to go soak my head now.

There are parallel universes where space exists inside the universe and space is somethingness and where space is not there

Welcome to the 21st century. This is where we are in our understanding of the world. We don't get to choose the point in time in which we are born. We could understand more about the world or we could understand less. It's OK. we live and do the things we do. Aside from our incessant trust in Christ, we are stuck in the minds we have. Just enjoy and pay attention.

BANG!!!

My theory is to stop worrying about why and how we managed to be here and just enjoy life because its going to take too much time to figure this all out. Just forget about it and enjoy life.

Actually, space is probably not nothingness. It is probably a quantum foam.
