They dont use the same sacred book, the tanakh and the koran have similar stories but far too many differences in the stories to even be considered the same. Jews do not forbid alcohol. Kosher wine is some of the best out there, they also have a holiday that you're kinda supposed to get wasted.

St. Mike:
We, Muslims, do not just follow any Imam - unlike Christians. We are very well aware that some Imams just don't know what they are talking about or have been pressurized by corrupt political leaders to mislead the followers for political reasons. The Imam that you are talking about here is an exact example of what I'm saying.
When God ordered Muslims to kill the ''infidels,'' that was during certain events at Mohammed's time where some non-Muslims KILLED Muslims because the former did not support the freedom of religious belief. They could not stand the fact that Muslims were not worshiping their statues any more. So, those non-believers persecuted and killed Muslims. Naturally, God ordered Muslims to defend themselves and fight back, but not to kill them plainly because they were ''non-believers.'' That's completely false.
Please, don't just follow what authors are saying and do your own research - AND look up for explanations for each verse you read in the Quran.
If killing was encouraged, we would not have followed this religion. Remember that we are still HUMAN BEINGS having hearts and morals and would never accept murder.

Similar they are not....The mentality is different. They do not use the same sacret book. Muslims copy some ideas from the Jewish and Christian Religions...but they mist one thing ...they mist the way of thinking. Ex. The Arabs most of them are followers...they follow a leader blindly with out examine and question the orders...and do n't believe that have any conection with the JEWISH people. Jewish people always create a Democratic society...the members of any Jewish Society are very out-spoken and most important they Juge the deeds of their leaders, and do corections if a wrong decission was done and executed something that muslims will never do. The Muslims treat their women- specially wife or wifes like a piece a property...less than a domisticated animal... In the other hand - a Jewish wife will not accept to be treated no less than a full parter in a decision make and activities to raise the familly. Muslims can divorce their wives very easy with no compessation, Jewish husbands to get divorse has to go through the process of law...and when the divorce will get granded ...the wife will go away with most of the join propery.

None of the above, but they do believe in the same God, and both have a Holy Book; Islam has the Koran, Judaism the Torah.

The post by St. Mike of the piece by Rick Mathes is hate literature that has been circulated by rabid fundamentalists in hopes of getting Muslims and Christians to fight and hate each other.
Rick's piece is full of lies and needs to be exposed for the piece of trash it is.
It is important to understand that neither Christianity nor Islam has any greater claim to being a peaceful religion than the other.
Do a Google search on Rick's name and you will find some refutations by several different groups.
Rick is an evil person.

This is not neccessarily true. They both believe in the God of Abraham but Muslims also worship Muhammed who they deem to be God's prophet. It may be closer to Christianity in that regard.
