sit the ex down tell him exactly how you feel and make sure he understands. then go ahead and go out with the new guy, and if the ex can't let go let your new boyfriend take care of him

Just say that you guys can still be friends and that you guys don't have to hate each other. I would be so upset if I had a girl and we seperated and I couldn't ever talk ot her again. But if we could be just friends, then everything will be cool. Also keep the possibility that you guys might go back together someday.

I have been in this situation before... I know it might seem like youre being really mean, but you have to calmly explain to him that you can't go on with him, let him know he will find someone else and work it out....
